About Giovanni

Ciao, my name is Giovanni, I'm 34 years old and I come from Teramo, a beautiful city in the heart of Abruzzo, in central Italy. I moved my first steps in the world of private tutoring in Italy, learning from an experienced English and Italian teacher, with over 30 years of experience in the role. In 2014 I moved to London with the aim of improving my English language skills. What was supposed to be a few months experience, transformed into 10 years of living and working in the UK, gaining experience in tutoring Italian language to English speaking individuals, and English language to Italian speaking students.

About the lesson

I have been tutoring students in person and online for many years (1 on 1 and group lessons) and my teaching style is simple but effective: I request the student to study and work diligently, but learning has to be fun too. My teaching style is quite modern: I use grammar books and e-books, but also useful apps and websites, and I tailor my lessons depending on the request, personality and language level of each student. All my students get access to my website community's learning page where they can find a large variety of extra learning resources. If you have always wanted to start learning a language, would like to improve your Italian or English, or would like to learn more about Italian culture, history and traditions as part of an organised cultural course, look no further and do not hesitate to contact me. My main qualities are: my reliability, flexibility and the passion I put into tutoring and into helping my students achieving their language learning goals. Excellent! In the end, I cancelled our tutor session because my daughter was too exhausted after a school trip, but in our first chat he seemed very experienced and had a really useful list of study resources - all round Giovanni seems great!

Living in London surely helped a lot in understanding better the English language and culture. Travelling all over Italy helped me in understanding better the culture and the different dialects of my home country.
