About Ansel
I am a passionate debater, public speaker and student with a deep interest in philosophy, theology, politics and economics as well as the way people think and communicate. Through competing in national and international debating and public speaking competitions, I have developed a love for exploring ideas and helping others express their own.
I want to teach because I believe everyone has valuable ideas worth sharing, and I enjoy helping students gain the confidence and skills to communicate them clearly.

I have extensive experience competing at a high level in debating and public speaking, including several prestigious competitions such as Cambridge Schools’ Debating and the ESU Churchill Public Speaking Competition. I have consistently achieved strong results, reaching finals and winning awards across the competitions I have entered.
Alongside my debating experience, I have received acting and vocal training from the Royal Academy of Music, where I developed techniques focused on understanding how to use your voice, body language and presence effectively. My lessons combine practical speaking techniques with confidence-building, helping students become clearer, more persuasive and more engaging communicators.
Lessons are available from 30 minutes to 1 hour and are designed primarily for students aged 11–16. Sessions can focus on areas such as:
- Building confidence and overcoming nerves
- Structuring persuasive arguments
- Developing critical thinking skills in relation to complex topics
- Improving delivery, voice and body language
- Preparing for debates, speeches and competitions
I have also gained experience mentoring younger students through my school debating society of over 300 members, helping students improve their speaking ability, confidence and argumentative skills.
