About Sam
As a Golden Apple award winner, I take pride in my ability to connect with students on a professional level while also meeting their needs in a deliberate way. I engage students with a good sense of humor and relevant comparisons to the world outside the classroom. I’ve been the most requested recommendation letter writer at my school, too, so I’ve been able to build a rapport with a diverse group of students in both ability and background.
I’m passionate about sports, musical theatre, and literature. I also enjoy video games in my spare time and watching Star Wars when I get the chance (yes, even the animated series on Disney!). I’m always happy to talk about life, too.

My lessons are innovative, fun, engaging, and often take in the wider world around us and incorporate them into the texts and work we do in class. I use a variety of methodologies to meet student needs and am flexible to help any level of student meet that individual’s goals. Ultimately, my goal is to help you grow as an English student and lover of language arts, but I believe that through the adversity that comes with vocabulary, reading comprehension, and essay writing also comes the bettering of the human mind to be more critical about the world around us.
