About Kathelyn
My name is Kathelyn, and I remember exactly what it felt like to learn a new language with no one to guide me. That frustration stuck with me, and it is what drives my passion for teaching today. I am a fluent English and Spanish speaker graduating from San Diego State University with my MIS degree, and I also speak basic Portuguese and French. Beyond my credentials, I have tutored young children in ESL programs at my schools, where I learned that true progress comes from patience and real connection. My lessons go beyond grammar and vocabulary. I want to share American culture, everyday expressions, and the confidence to speak naturally in any situation. I am here to be the teacher I never had.

My name is Kathelyn. I am a fluent English and Spanish speaker graduating from San Diego State University with my MIS degree. I also speak basic Portuguese and French, so I truly understand what it feels like to learn a new language. My teaching method is patient, practical, and conversation-focused. I believe the best way to learn English is by using it in real situations, not just memorizing rules. Each lesson starts with a short warm-up conversation, followed by a grammar or vocabulary topic based on your needs, and ends with practice through speaking, writing, or listening exercises. What sets me apart is that I know the challenges Spanish speakers face because I have been on both sides of language learning. My lessons are for native Spanish speakers of any level who want to build confidence in English for work, school, travel, or daily life.
