About Josephine
I love sharing and speaking with artists, I think having an insight into how other people's minds work when creating, can be so inspiring, and help our own ideas blossom. My mother is an artist and art has always been a big part of my life, growing up internationally I believe that art is everywhere and sometimes we just need some help, and clarity of mind to appreciate it. Studying art in school can sometimes feel very structured and not what you might have imagined, but once you find a balance between your requirement and projects you feel inspired by, it is a much easier and exciting journey!

I recently graduated with a distinction from the UAL Art Foundation, throughout the course we focused mainly on portfolio preparation and university applications; I received offers from Goldsmiths, Chelsea College of Art, Central Saint Martins and Westminster. I believe working with mixed media can be a really helpful way to propel your portfolio to the top of the list, by showing your range, and willingness to expand ideas and explore outside of your comfort zone. I am very passionate about creating freely, I appreciate that there can be specific requirements to hit, if studying preparing for GCSEs A levels or art school applications. Experimentation and development being just as important as improving your specific medium. Annotations can be equally important for your work to flow smoothly, and helping your audience perceive as you intended. I studied history of art at A level which I find to be a helpful tool to discover related artists for sketch-booking and pulling inspiration from specific eras, technique, patterns, context, mythology…
