About Caitlin

Growing up I struggled in school. I had a learning disability that really caused me to hate school. Now my hope as a teacher is to never allow a student to feel the way that I did. I ended up graduating high school with honors and now strive to make learning fun and inclusive. Whether you struggle with school, don't enjoy school, or maybe just struggle with one subject. I am sure there is a way I can make learning fun for you!

About the lesson

My main approach as a tutor is to meet the student where they are. My first meeting with the child is mainly for me to get to know them and for them to get to know me. In this session, I will learn a bit about where the child is at and what they need help with. I ask that the parent be present for this, just in case there are any concerns that the parent would like to address. From there I want it to be fun and engaging. After sitting through hours of school, no child wants to sit through another lesson. I will incorporate as much fun and things that the child enjoys as possible while still learning. My main philosophy of teaching is that learning should be fun for everyone.
