About Jonathan

I am currently studying for a Masters degree in Musicology at King's College London, where I'm specialising in the relationship between medieval music and music in the twentieth century. I have a wide range of experience in musicology and have conducted in-depth study in several areas of music from the middle ages to the present day. I have provided musicology tutoring in the past, looking at vastly different areas with my tutees. Similarly, I have given several talks within universities and have recently co-authored a new research paper for release next year! I can provide tuition in any historical, popular or ethno musicology area, and we can explore any topic from Gregorian Chant to Acid Jazz!

About the lesson

I am available to tutor any student who needs support with musicology at any level of education, from pre-GCSE to post-Masters Degree. Similarly, I am available to give general interest tuition to provide in-depth knowledge for those wishing to learn more about music! I am highly flexible in my tuition method, and at the beginning, I work with the student to set out a list of clear goals for the lessons. Sessions can be used for anything from a general discussion about musicological topics to mini-lectures of areas of interest, or even help with essays or readings that are particularly difficult! Each session will be tailor-fit to your specific needs. Regular check-ins to assess progress also help in establishing how we can learn best! As a trainee primary school teacher, I am aware of the latest methods of learner theory, so I can work with you to develop the best learning methods!!
