About Diana
I am an 18 year-old violist and currently a freshman at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, as well as a recent graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts, where I had studied for six years. My viola experience includes 11 years of playing, being a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the USA (2023), studying at the Meadowmount School of Music (summer 2021, 2022), and playing as principal violist of the Alabama Symphony Youth Orchestra (2019-2023).
As far as my music theory knowledge goes, I have been fortunate to begin my studies at the age of seven, as is customary for music students in Russia, from where I moved to the U.S. in 2016. Learning music theory at a young age was instrumental in helping me develop an intuitive understanding of this subject and I hope to help others get really comfortable with it as well.

Hi everyone! I am here to teach beginner and intermediate music theory. Whether you want to learn from scratch or you are a music student who struggles in the class, I am here to help you get an intuitive understanding of the subject. Music theory can seem really complicated, but I believe anyone can develop an excellent understanding of it with a personalized approach and a patient tutor.
Some topics I can help with are rhythm, simple vs. compound time signatures, scales & key signatures, circle of fifths, intervals, chords, cadences, transposition, Roman numeral analysis, and four-part writing. It is possible that I can help with more advanced concepts, but my expertise becomes limited, as I am still a student myself.
So, if you need help anywhere from understanding time signatures to getting comfortable with four-part writing, I am here to do my best to make sure you leave with a solid understanding of the topic.
