About Deinkumo
I'm Liberty – an engineer turned cybersecurity researcher with over 17 years of experience in environments where technical thinking has to be right. I spent that career at Shell and Chevron in safety-critical energy operations, then formally moved into cybersecurity through an MSc in Computer Science at Birmingham City University, where I completed my studies with a Distinction in 2025. My dissertation was published at IRICT 2025 (Springer), and I now hold GICSP, SANS ICS410, ISC2 CC, and Security+, Google AI and IBM Machine Learning certifications.
I teach because I find genuine satisfaction in watching someone work through a difficult concept and then see them realise that they actually understand it. That moment when something abstract becomes concrete in their head. My professional career and recent research have taught me that a true understanding of complex technical ideas comes from being able to teach them to non-specialists.
I currently mentor cybersecurity students at the University of East London, which is where I confirmed that I want to do more teaching alongside my research and professional work.
I bring patience, structure, and a willingness to find five different ways to explain something until the right one "clicks" for that particular student.

My lessons are structured, patient, and grounded in real-world examples.
I start every new student with a free 30-minute chat to understand exactly what you need and then build a tailored plan around your goals — whether that's a specific exam, a coursework module, or a cybersecurity certification.
Standard lessons run 60 minutes, with 90-minute options for dissertation supervision or complex topics. I teach from first principles rather than rote answers, which is what helps students get unstuck and stay unstuck.
My qualifications: MSc Computer Science (Distinction, Birmingham City University), peer-reviewed publication at IRICT 2025 (Springer), GICSP and SANS ICS410 certified, and over 17 years of professional engineering experience at Shell and Chevron.
I'm currently mentoring cybersecurity students at the University of East London and the Akinode Victor Mentorship Initiative.
My lessons are for GCSE and A-level students (maths, physics, and computer science); undergraduate and postgraduate students in cybersecurity, computing, and engineering; dissertation supervisees at the MSc level; and professional learners studying for certifications such as Security+, GICSP, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.

What's included in the standard rate:
Lesson preparation tailored to your syllabus, study goal, or certification path. Notes, worked examples, and follow-up resources shared after each session. Coursework, dissertation, or past-paper review between lessons by email at no extra charge (within reason).
Free trial:
Free first 30 minutes. You get a chance to discuss your goals, confirm I'm the right fit, and plan a tailored approach before any payment is made.
Package discounts:
5-lesson block paid upfront: 10% off the standard rate.
10-lesson block paid upfront: 15% off.
In-person sessions:
Available in the West Midlands at a slightly higher rate to cover travel time. Online sessions remain at the standard rate.
No additional fees:
No charge for resources, materials, or short between-lesson questions. If your needs require something beyond standard tuition (e.g., extensive dissertation review), I'll discuss any adjustment with you in advance.
