About Sage

I studied my Bachelors in Science in Rheinbach, Germany. I received a BSc (Hons) degree in Molecular Biology (cum laude) at Stellenbosch University. I am finishing my MSc in Molecular Biology at the end of February 2024. I have always strived for academic excellence and received 5 distinctions in Matric with an average of 83% and being in the top ten of my year.

In addition to the TB research I was doing for my masters, I also wrote a fantasy romance novel which I plan on self publishing one day. I also write poetry which I plan on publishing as well.

I like to do outreach projects and am currently a consultant for the queer society at Stellenbosch University and often get asked to give talks on my experience as someone who is non-binary.

My hobbies include reading, meditation and spending all my free time in nature.

I am a very compassionate person, reliable and always on time.

About the lesson

I create individualised teaching plans based on each students needs. I will go through the curriculum with them and help them with homework and studying and revising for exams. It is important to me that students understand the work I am teaching. I am open to answering questions and to go through concepts multiple times until the student feels confident enough to continue. I will listen to the students needs and try and make complicated concepts more comprehensible. My main goal is not just to ensure that students get good grades, but to also ensure that they understand the work in such a way that they can apply this knowledge in real life as well. I strive to make learning easier and to give the student a safe space to feel comfortable enough to share with me what they are struggling with, without feeling incompetent or like they are the porblem.
