About QIANQIAN ZHOU
I am an experienced Chinese tutor based in Edinburgh, with over 5 years of Chinese tutoring experience and 12 years of English - Chinese translation and interpretation experience. I hold a MSc in Language Education (Distinction) and I am currently a PhD Candidate in Education at the University of Edinburgh. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghai dialect. I am particularly experienced in teaching oral Chinese classes. I have taught complete beginners and students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels for HSK exam purposes. I devise all teaching materials myself to meet the student's needs, making them as customized and updated as possible. I also incorporate elements of reading comprehension and translation into my lessons, depending on the student's level. I make clear the teaching foci for each lesson and make sure the student leaves the lesson learning what the lesson sets out to teach. I observe the progress and learning styles of my students and adjust my teaching methods and contents accordingly. I am very supportive to my students and I am always open for suggestions.
