About Zeynep

Hi! I'm a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, where I completed a double major in Cell and Molecular Biology and Health and Disease, along with a minor in Immunology. This fall, I'll be returning to U of T to begin my Master of Engineering (MEng) in Biomedical Engineering, where I'll continue combining my interests in biology, engineering, and healthcare.
I've always enjoyed helping others learn, and tutoring has been a big part of my journey. I started tutoring biology in high school and continued throughout university by leading biology help groups for two years. During these sessions, I worked with students to explain challenging concepts, answer questions, prepare for tests, and help them build confidence in their understanding of the material.

Over the past year, I also worked as a researcher in a Biomedical Engineering laboratory at the Donnelly Centre. Being involved in research has allowed me to apply what I learned in the classroom to real scientific projects while developing strong analytical, laboratory, and problem-solving skills.

Beyond biology, I have over five years of experience tutoring French online to students of all ages, from young learners to adults. Working with such a wide range of students has taught me how to adapt my teaching style to different learning needs and create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

About the lesson

My lessons are interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student's learning style and goals. Before each session, I ask students to let me know which concepts they would like to focus on. I review the material beforehand so that our time together is organized, productive, and focused on exactly what you need.
During our sessions, I'll explain concepts step by step, answer your questions, and help you understand the underlying principles behind each topic. If your instructor has assigned practice questions, worksheets, or review problems, we can work through them together, discuss the solutions, and identify strategies for approaching similar questions in the future.

Whether you're aiming to improve your grades, prepare for university, catch up in a challenging course, or deepen your understanding of molecular biology, I'll work with you to build confidence, strengthen your problem-solving skills, and develop effective study habits that support long-term success.
