About Joanna
I am a down-to-earth Italian girl with a passion for languages and teaching. I take much pride in my Italian heritage, as I have never really 'fit the mould' due to being a child of Polish migrants, born and raised in Italy.
After moving to England I realised that this didn't matter - I knew that I was Italian and owned it regardless of the comments from others. I studied Italian, received my qualifications and moved straight into the translation field.
Due to my upbringing, I know exactly what it's like for young people trying to learn a new language or approach something foreign, trying to build that confidence to speak without a doubt in their mind and prove that they're good enough.
I want my experience to be an example to my students and to teach them that they can take the reins and do whatever they're passionate about; and with my qualifications, attitude to learning and experience, I know I'm the best fit for you!

I am a huge proponent of being able to speak the language comfortably and smoothly above just on paper. We will have chats, speak about your topics in Italian, discuss your strengths and weaknesses and work in a proactive way to tackle them at the source.
You could spend anywhere from half an hour up to two hours with me, reading, learning and discussing! Anything that peaks your interest will do perfectly; after all, if you're enjoying your learning, it doesn't feel like learning!
I have a Distinction in Italian Speaking, am native Italian and currently work in a translation role so you can always trust me to provide up-to-date knowledge and advice on how you can improve.
I'm happy working with any age and level of Italian!
