About Riya
Hi! I’m a former Microsoft Tech Consultant, Computer Science engineer, and Data Science & AI professional — but my journey with teaching started much before Microsoft.
During my Computer Science degree at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed explaining things to others. I would often find myself helping classmates understand coding concepts, solving problems together, and breaking down topics that initially seemed complicated.
I graduated Rank 1 across my department with a CGPA of 9.16, and eventually turned my technical knowledge into a career. I worked at Microsoft for 3 years as a Tech Consultant, while also completing my postgraduate degree in Data Science & AI from IIT Roorkee.
But throughout this journey, one thing stayed constant: I loved teaching.
I’ve now been teaching coding and Computer Science for over 10 years, and I’ve learned that being good at a subject and being good at teaching it are two different things.
You don’t need someone who simply knows the answer.
You need someone who can explain why it works, break a difficult problem into smaller pieces, and patiently build on those smaller pieces to understand the whole concept.
That’s exactly how I teach.
I can help you learn:
Python • C++ • SQL • OOP • Data Structures • Databases • Machine Learning • Data Science • Data Analysis
My classes are relaxed, interactive, and focused on understanding rather than memorising. You can ask questions, make mistakes, and take your time with difficult concepts — there’s no judgment.
Whether you’re starting coding from scratch, preparing for exams or interviews, struggling with a particular subject, or simply want to become better at programming, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build from there.
And if you currently feel that “coding or computer science just isn’t for me,” don’t worry.
I’ve taught enough students to know that very often, it isn’t the student who is the problem — it’s simply the way the concept was explained.

- My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals and clear logic, rather than rote memorization. I simplify complex topics using real-life examples and step-by-step explanations so students truly understand what they’re learning
- A typical class starts with a concept explanation, guided problem-solving, and ends with practice questions to reinforce learning and build confidence
- I ensure a doubt-friendly, no-pressure environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions. I also adapt my pace and methods based on each student’s learning style
- My classes are ideal for school students, beginners in programming, college students, and anyone looking to strengthen their computer science fundamentals
