About Huni

My ancestral links are from Ngāti Kahungunu o Te Wairoa and Aitutaki.
Born and bred in Tokoroa. Spent most of my childhood from teenage onwards in Hamilton and attended Waikato University.
Kapa Haka provided a platform to learn and grow. This is where my reo journey begins. 16 years on this life changing journey which has provided a plethora of opportunities.
2015 I fell hapū. My partner and I dedicated time to strengthen our knowledge to ensure our daughters first language was Te Reo Māori. A dream come true as our now 7 year old attends Kura Kaupapa and is fluent in both Te Reo Māori and English.
My work experience stems from teaching Te Reo Māori to adult learnings beginning Te Reo Māori face to face to creating content to managing delivery.

About the lesson

There’s a true hunger to learn Te Reo Māori. And it takes time, application and practice to build confidence.
The learning is tailored around what you already know and you’re goals for Te Reo Māori. Expect to learn in a safe supportive space but also challenge yourself to grow and develop.
