About Kaitlyn
I am a certified educator with a strong foundation in both Elementary Education (K–6) and Middle School Mathematics (Grades 5–8), currently completing New Jersey’s Alternate Route to Teaching program. With a background in research psychology and data analysis, I bring a structured, analytical approach to instruction while maintaining a warm and supportive classroom environment. My teaching philosophy centers on building students’ confidence and making math accessible to all learners. I believe every student is capable of growth when given the right tools, encouragement, and instruction. I strive to create a classroom culture where curiosity is welcomed, mistakes are part of the learning process, and every student feels seen, respected, and challenged.

I believe students should be viewed holistically - not just academically. It is important to understand the child's background and learning style. I personalize lessons to each student as much as possible. I try to connect with a student outside of the classroom, by asking about what they did over the weekend or their favorite sports teams. I engage my students with hands on activities and online games. I gauge student progress and incorporate one-on-one time.
