Why You Can Trust My Teaching
I'm Pranjal, a Metallurgical & Materials Engineer with a BTech from PEC Chandigarh, currently working as an Associate Manager in the Process Control Group at a leading stainless steel plant. For nearly three years, I've been directly responsible for running AOD (Argon Oxygen Decarburization) operations — producing specialty stainless and high-alloy steel grades on a daily basis. I was also selected as the primary technical resource for a major process-control system upgrade at my plant, a role that involves not just mastering the new technology myself, but training other engineers on it.
I share this not to list credentials for their own sake, but because I genuinely believe it matters who teaches you metallurgy. Concepts like phase transformations, thermodynamics, or alloy behavior stop being abstract the moment someone who works with molten steel every day is explaining them to you — I've seen these principles play out in real furnace operations, not just in textbooks.
Beyond industry experience, I bring a research background in High-Entropy Alloys and electrochemical corrosion testing, along with hands-on exposure to characterization techniques like SEM, XRD, and VSM from my time at CSIR-CSIO. This mix of academic rigor and daily industrial practice is what shapes how I teach — grounded, practical, and honest about what actually matters for exams versus real-world application.
I take teaching seriously and treat every student's time and goals with the same discipline I bring to my own work. I believe metallurgy and materials science are best learned the way I actually use them on the shop floor — by connecting theory to real, physical processes rather than treating them as abstract chapters to memorize. Teaching Techniques & Methods
I break down complex GATE-level topics (Metallurgical Thermodynamics, Physical Metallurgy, Extractive Metallurgy, Mechanical Metallurgy) into first-principles explanations before moving to numerical problem-solving.
