About Sami
Hi! I’m Sami, a mental health counselor and psychology graduate with a passion for helping students understand psychology in a way that actually makes sense. I have experience working with children, teens, and adults, along with a strong academic background in counseling and psychology.
I know psychology can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to memorize theories, terminology, and research all at once. My goal is to make learning more engaging, practical, and approachable while helping students build confidence in their understanding of the material. Whether you’re taking your first psychology class or working through more advanced coursework, I’ll meet you where you are and tailor our sessions to what you need.
I’m patient, encouraging, and genuinely love talking about psychology—which makes tutoring a pretty natural fit for me!

About My Approach
I believe psychology is easiest to learn when you can connect concepts to real-life experiences rather than simply memorize definitions. My approach is collaborative, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s learning style and academic needs. I break down complex psychological theories and concepts into understandable pieces and use examples, discussion, practice questions, and application-based activities to help students truly understand the material.
A Typical Lesson
Each session begins by identifying what the student is currently working on and any areas they are struggling with. From there, we review key concepts, break down difficult material, and connect theories to real-world examples. Depending on the student’s needs, we may work through practice questions, study strategies, case examples, or exam preparation. I end each session by reviewing the most important takeaways and identifying what the student should focus on next.
What Sets Me Apart
As a mental health counselor and psychology graduate, I bring both academic knowledge and real-world clinical experience to tutoring. I can help students understand not only what a psychological concept means, but also how it appears in real people, relationships, and clinical settings. I strive to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence in their understanding of psychology.
Who I Work With
I work with high school and college students who are taking psychology courses or want additional support understanding psychological concepts. This may include introductory psychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, social psychology, personality, counseling-related coursework, and other foundational psychology topics. I also provide support with studying, exam preparation, understanding course material, and developing effective study strategies.
