About Mecmillan

Hi, I'm Mec! I'm a fourth-year medical student at St George's, University of London, with a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Liverpool. Biology has always been a subject I'm passionate about, and I enjoy helping students develop both confidence and a genuine understanding of the topics they find challenging.

Having recently completed GCSEs, A-levels, and university exams myself, I understand the pressures students face and know the revision techniques that truly make a difference. My teaching style is patient, supportive, and tailored to each individual, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

Whether you're aiming to improve your grades, prepare for important exams, or build confidence in Biology, I'm committed to helping you achieve your goals. I believe that with the right guidance, clear explanations, and consistent practice, every student can reach their full potential.

About the lesson

As a fourth-year medical student with a Biomedical Sciences degree, I understand that every student learns differently. My lessons are tailored to each individual's goals, whether that's building confidence, mastering difficult biological concepts, or achieving top grades in GCSE or A-Level Biology.

I begin by identifying each student's strengths and areas for improvement before creating a personalised learning plan. Lessons combine clear explanations, interactive discussions, exam-style questions, active recall, and spaced repetition to help students understand the content rather than simply memorise it. I also focus heavily on exam technique, helping students interpret questions, structure answers effectively, and avoid common mistakes that cost marks.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and can be delivered online or in person, where available. I provide a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I aim to make Biology engaging, understandable, and enjoyable while helping every student achieve their academic potential.
