About Siva

I have tutored numerous students in IGCSE, AS and A2 Biology and am passionate about the content in order to teach you high-yield information! My time at ACG Parnell allowed me to discover my love of the sciences and interest in diving deeper. I have achieved an A* in A-level Biology and A-level Chemistry, and I feel confident in extending the skills I have learned along the way. I have completed my first year of biomedical science at the University of Auckland with an 8.625 GPA, including an A+ in BIOSCI 107, 106, 101, CHEM 110, and PHYS 160. Studying can be fun if you're passionate about what you do! I want to help foster a mindset where we can have fun and learn simultaneously in an environment where you feel comfortable and open to ask ANY questions you have :)

About the lesson

I'm interested in getting to know you! Forming a good foundation and understanding of who you are and your academic goals will help us create a study plan suited to your needs. I think it is essential to use a wide variety of resources when learning a new concept or to brush up on a previous topic you weren't too confident in. In a 1-hour session, I start by reviewing what was covered in the previous lesson so we can make sure to address any final questions or doubts before moving on. We can go over specific areas/topics you were confused by in a super casual and open manner for you to ask questions along the way to guide the discussion and can conclude with expectations or plans before our next lesson. I have taught secondary school students from ACG Parnell in my two years of tutoring in Bio, Chem and Physics, intending to increase our exam marks and learn from our mistakes, as well as many NCEA and CIE Year 11-13 Students in Biology.
