About Ayush

I am a first-generation student who tackled and found my success as an undergraduate student. I was able to graduate second in a class for my BioChemistry and Mollecular Cellular and Developmental Biology degree. I was able to excel and became a first-generational medical student, and now hold a Doctor of Osteopathic Degree.

I have been in this professional field for over ten years, and one thing I continually love doing is teaching. I enjoy having the opportunity to give back to those who might also be first-generation students, or come from a background where there is guidance. You can ask me about not just the topic, but advice on college and guidance through the acceptance process. I have had to do a lot of learning without any guidance, therefore I have had to experiment on myself. I have tried all the different learning methods, and have a good grasp on what works well for me personally. I would love to share this anecdote with you.

About the lesson

I believe that each of us have our own unique ways of learning. There is no one mold that fits our learning style. As a medical student, I have had to experiment with different learning style until I found the one that worked. So I would take time to figure out first what method works the best for retention.

I do believe the strongest way to learn, comprehend, and apply knowledge is through active recall and spaced repetition. Therefore, I will always find a way to create a lesson plan which gives space for you the student to ask yourself if the knowledge is making sense on a weekly basis.

I also love doing questions, I believe the more hands on we are the more we get out of the opportunities given to us. I believe that just my individually catered approach is something that sets me apart. As a healthcare worker I have come to understand that each person and disease is unique so we have to adapt accordingly.
