About Mandy

I help nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals prepare for the OET exam and communicate confidently in English for clinical work and professional settings.

I bring 25 years' NHS experience across nursing, midwifery, public health, and emergency services, and I'm an OET-certified trainer. I also hold a BSc in Community Public Health Nursing and a TEFL qualification — combining clinical expertise with focused exam and language teaching.

My lessons are built around real OET tasks and real clinical scenarios, not generic textbook material. I know the Nursing and Medicine sub-tests closely, and I focus on the accuracy, structure, and professional communication skills examiners are looking for.

I also work with healthcare professionals who need general workplace and business English rather than OET — the same clinical background applies either way.

Teaching has always been central to my career, from patient education to mentoring healthcare staff. I work best with motivated learners who want clear, structured progress toward a specific goal.

About the lesson

Lessons are built around the OET exam — Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking — with particular focus on the Nursing and Medicine sub-tests. We work on referral and discharge letters, clinical role-plays, and the specific language and structure examiners assess.

Each online lesson lasts around one hour and is tailored to your current level and target OET band. In the first lesson, we assess your level, identify gaps, and agree clear priorities so you know exactly what the course will cover.

Teaching methods include structured letter-writing practice with detailed written feedback, guided speaking practice, role-play based on real clinical situations, and targeted correction of common OET pitfalls. Lessons suit learners around B2–C1 level working toward OET Grade B or above.

For those not sitting OET, the same lessons can be adapted for general workplace and business English.
