The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pretoria has a well-developed tutor system. I was selected to tutor medical students in physiology, anatomy and basic medical sciences. My responsibilities included creating my own content with interactive lessons, one-on-one as well as group contact sessions and setting up and marking mock-examinations. I was also selected to assist and prepare students that had particular difficulties with grasping key concepts.

I am a medical doctor practising in a small regional hospital in South Africa.
I have experience in teaching medicine since I was a student as well as high school level biology, maths and physics. Afrikaans is my home language and one of a few languages that I speak - as a lover of languages I am not new to the steep learning curve and diligent practice that is necessary to learn and master a new language. I am fully bilingual with English being the language of choice for patient interactions as well as most of my day-to-day tasks.
