About Chid

I am a fourth year medical student in London. I have had experience in different aspects of teaching such as tutoring for the past 6 years and being a social mobility ambassador for my university. I have worked with children across different ages in other roles too. My favourite subject in school was maths, I liked it so much I did Further maths in A level. Now I keep that interest alive through tutoring! I achieved four A*s in maths, F.maths, chem and bio. At GCSEs I got 9s in all subjects (and 8s in English). I enjoy volunteering, I have been a part of different community projects over the years, right now my main project is leading a craft club at my university! As I enjoy crafts such as crochet and knitting. I've also got a particular interest in supporting students with specific learning difficulties (e.g. ADHD), and achieved a level 2 certificate in this topic to inform my teaching practices. I want to support students in overcoming the challenges they may be facing with learning and revision! I'm also available to support with applying to med school, such as entrance exams, personal statements and interviews, as I do this as an ambassador.

About the lesson

I am a medical student tutoring for the past 6 years. My speciality is maths (Inc further maths) up to A level. I can also tutor chem/bio up to A level, and any GCSE core subject (+Spanish). My A level results were four A*s (maths, F.maths,bio,chem) from a non-selective state school. I prioritise understanding and meeting a student's needs. This means I make sure to figure out your strengths and points of improvement in the chosen topics. Then I make sure I guide you through the topic the best I can, through verbal and visual explanations, practice questions, exam style questions. I aim for sessions to be interactive and encouraging. I enjoy giving advice such as lightly touching on revision and other important aspects of education. I achieved a level 2 certificate in Specific learning difficulties and have worked with children who have these additional needs. I also have one of these conditions myself and have experienced the difficulties that school can bring, whilst working hard to overcome them.
