About Ahmed
My name is Ahmed, and I am a Doctor in Mechanical Engineering with a strong academic foundation and more than 15 years of experience in both teaching and applied engineering. Education: University of Stuttgart Doctor of Philosophy - PhD, Mechanical Engineering Dec 2017 - Jul 2022 Master of Engineering (MEng), Turbomachinery 2012 - 2015 Experience: Extensive teaching experience with undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding them in CFD, FEA, CAD, and simulation-based research projects. Developer and instructor of the Open-Source CFD Masterclass, helping students and professionals apply OpenFOAM and other tools to real engineering challenges. Participating in real projects of design and implementation of mechanical systems using CFD: Centrifugal and Axial Fans, Pumps, Ventilation system, etc. Why Learn with Me: Students can trust that they are learning from a tutor who combines academic expertise with practical engineering experience. My lessons are designed to build a solid understanding, develop critical skills, and prepare learners for both academic success and professional practice.

As a tutor, my goal is to make complex engineering concepts simple, practical, and engaging. I believe that students learn best when theory is directly connected to real-world engineering problems.
My Teaching Method & Techniques
I explain each concept step by step, moving from theory to application.
I use real engineering case studies (fans, pumps, turbines, etc) to show how CFD and FEA are applied in practice.
I encourage interactive learning: solving problems together, simulations, and hands-on exercises.
I adapt my pace depending on the student — whether they are beginners who need clarity or advanced learners seeking research-level guidance.
Typical Lesson Plan
Introduction & Review → Quick recap of the previous session.
Concept Explanation → Clear breakdown of the topic (e.g., turbulence modeling, meshing, boundary conditions).
Practical Demonstration → Software-based example (OpenFOAM, ANSYS, SolidWorks, or Python).
Student Practice → Guided exercise where the student applies the concept.
Discussion & Q/A → Addressing difficulties, connecting to coursework, or linking to thesis/research topics.
Wrap-Up → Summary of key takeaways + tasks for self-practice.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
Strong academic background, teaching at different universities for more than 15 years.
Blend of teaching experience and consulting expertise, ensuring lessons are both academically sound and industry-relevant.
Focus on open-source tools (like OpenFOAM) as well as commercial software (ANSYS, SolidWorks), giving students flexibility and accessibility.
Ability to guide postgraduate students with research-level projects, thesis work, and simulations.
Who the Lessons Are For
Undergraduate students in Mechanical, Aerospace, and Energy Engineering.
Postgraduate students working on CFD/FEA-based research or thesis.
Professionals & Engineers who want to upskill in simulation tools.
Lessons are tailored to the student’s level — from beginner basics to advanced, research-focused applications.
