About Oscar
I am a mechanical engineering student at the university of Edinburgh. I have studied
Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Russian for A-level.
I greatly enjoy playing University tennis and basketball with a love for rugby and cricket also.
Having spent time in France I can converse in French and having studied Russian I love to learn and discuss languages as well as teaching.
I’m a jazz pianist and love music.
I have tutored students in GCSE and A level Maths before weekly for a year and a half.

I usually teach by topic. Regarding maths I make sure that I cover the theory first in detail to understand the material and then afterwards, cement the ideas and theory in example questions, trying to guide the student to apply the theory for the solution.
Regarding languages, I have found it is easy to learn vocabulary and grammar together with examples and stories. Working through the meanings of sentences and going over the grammar and vocab points to better ingrain the way the language is spoken in the student.
