I offer online lessons in math (through Algebra II, including SAT Math prep) and chess for students from elementary through high school. My approach is active rather than lecture-based; I guide students to work through problems themselves so I can catch and address gaps in understanding as they come up. A typical lesson includes a quick review of prior material, instruction on new concepts with worked examples, guided practice, and a short recap so the student knows exactly what to work on next. With a background as a chess coach, tournament director, and programming tutor, I bring patience, diligence, and experience teaching students across a wide range of skill levels.
