About SJ Gabu

Hi there! I’m a Mechanical Engineering student with a deep passion for Math and helping others succeed. I didn’t start tutoring for the money — I started because I realized how much I care. After helping two students improve, I saw something in myself: the ability to make a real difference. Math has always come naturally to me because I love logical problem-solving — the kind that makes your brain click and gives you that “aha!” moment. My teaching philosophy is simple: never assume, always understand. I believe that true learning happens when you understand concepts deeply, not just cram for tests. I’m friendly, open, and easy to talk to — someone who still remembers what it feels like to struggle with pressure and deadlines. I don’t judge. I encourage. I challenge. And I celebrate every win, big or small. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy going to the gym, watching movies, and playing chess to stay sharp. I’m just a regular person who’s serious about doing right by my students. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares, commits fully, and helps you believe in yourself — I’m your guy.

About the lesson

As a Mechanical Engineering student with a strong passion for Maths, I offer focused, friendly, and flexible lessons for Grade 10–12 CAPS students. Whether you need help with homework, revision, or exam prep, I adapt to your goals and pace. My teaching style is step-by-step, with a strong emphasis on building confidence — mistakes are learning opportunities, and progress is always celebrated. I keep things interactive, challenging, and never judgmental.

Lessons are available online (1–2 hours), and I highly recommend weekly sessions for consistent results. I'm here to support you wherever you're at — whether you're catching up or aiming ahead. I teach in English and make use of past papers, questions you bring, and clear explanations to help you truly understand Maths, not just memorise it. Let’s make Maths something you can handle — and even enjoy.
