About Reed
I am an opera singer with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from McGill University. Currently I am pursuing a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance and have just entered a Bachelors of Education in Music. I have been studying the Bel Canto style of singing for 5 years and am looking to simultaneously further my understanding of vocal pedagogy while imparting the art of Bel Canto to others.

My teaching methods are based in the school of Bel Canto, created with the intention of every breath being capable of producing both beautiful melody and efficient diction. I focus predominantly on the breath and the structure of both the body (with emphasis on the chest, diaphragm and shoulders) and the mouth. I provide both breathing exercises and vocalises that will help you to hone your voice and understand how it functions. I am capable of teaching diction in English, French, Italian, Spanish and German, with a focus on French Melodies, Italian Arias and German Lied.
