About Jennifer
I have a First Class Honours English degree from the University of Liverpool. Since graduating in 2003 I have worked in Higher Education Careers Advice and Guidance, Widening Access to Higher Education and graduate recruitment for a number of top UK professional institutions including McKinsey & Co. I am now combining my experience helping young people to realise their career potential with my passion for English Literature through tutoring. My professional background means I can also assist with university and graduate job applications and interview preparation.
My English Literature specialisms include Twentieth Century American Literature; Gothic Fiction; Tragedy; Shakespeare; Hardy; and Victorian Literature.
My approach to tutoring is personalized to the preferred learning style of each client and I seek to put in place learning strategies and techniques that my clients can continue to apply in their own independent study. When meeting a new client for the first time I have an open discussion to understand what they are seeking to gain from the session and how best I can help them.
