About Cat
I am a mature student studying Japanese (Oriental Studies) at Oxford University. Prior to university, I worked as a professional teacher of English-as-a-second-language for three years. As someone who has learnt to cope with dyslexia in the high-pressure environment of Oxford I can help other dyslexic students with study-skills; particularly within a demanding, language-heavy course. I have also been offered places at both Cambridge and Oxford university at different points, so can help students with interview practice, personal statements and submitted written-work.

My teaching method is flexible to each individual student. Depending on whether they are looking for study-skills dyslexia support or Oxbridge application help I will provide different sessions. If I am helping a dyslexic student I will first talk to them to identify their areas of difficulty, for example, time-management, essay writing, extended research and then help to teach them study-skills by helping them with whatever work they are currently struggling with. If I am helping with Oxbridge applications I am happy to work through personal statements, practice interviews or discuss submitted work.
