About Mara

I’m a dedicated Math tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience and a Master’s in Mathematics (MMath). My passion extends beyond equations and problem-solving — I’m deeply fascinated by the history of mathematics and how human curiosity shaped it over centuries. I believe that understanding where mathematical ideas come from makes learning them more meaningful and enjoyable. In my lessons, I explore how ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Greeks, Indians, and Babylonians laid the foundations of modern mathematics. I enjoy sharing how famous theorems, such as Pythagoras’ or Euclid’s, were discovered and how they influenced later generations of thinkers. My students often find it exciting to connect what they study today with the discoveries of mathematicians who lived thousands of years ago. I use stories, timelines, and real-world parallels to make abstract concepts feel alive. About the lesson

My teaching approach in Mathematics focuses on creating a clear, structured path that builds each concept upon the last. I believe strong algebraic foundations are the key to mastering advanced topics like calculus, geometry, and probability. Every lesson follows a logical progression, helping students move from understanding basic principles to applying them confidently in problem-solving.

I guide learners through calculus concepts such as differentiation and integration with clarity and patience, ensuring they see the real-world meaning behind the symbols. In geometry, I emphasize proofs and reasoning so students learn to think logically, not just memorize steps. Probability and statistics lessons are designed to connect with everyday examples, helping students see how data and uncertainty shape the world around us.

As a future actuary and problem solver, I bring analytical precision and real-world insight to my sessions. I tailor my teaching to each student’s learning pace and style, ensuring their understanding is both deep and lasting.
