About Sophia

I am a Maths tutor with over 5 years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science. I specialise in helping students improve their mathematical communication and exposition skills. My goal is to make complex concepts clear and accessible.

I guide students in writing coherent mathematical arguments and presenting their solutions effectively. Whether it’s step-by-step problem solving or constructing logical proofs, I focus on clarity and precision. I have worked with students on university essays, research papers, and presentations, helping them convey their ideas confidently.

I emphasise understanding, not just memorisation, so students can explain concepts in their own words. Together, we practice organising thoughts, structuring arguments, and using appropriate notation. I encourage questions and foster an environment where mistakes become learning opportunities.

By the end of our sessions, students gain not only stronger skills but also greater confidence in articulating mathematical ideas. About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making mathematics engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable.
