About Yumna

Hi! My name is Yumna!! I’m a Year 11 student currently studying Mathematics Advanced. I have a strong passion for math and a clear understanding of the concepts taught from Kindergarten to Year 8. I’m reliable, organized, and genuinely enjoy helping others learn. With access to a wide range of resources and a solid grasp of the syllabus, I aim to create a supportive, encouraging and personalized environment where students feel confident to ask questions, build their skills, and see real progress. I take my role seriously and always ensure my students feel prepared, supported, and motivated!!

About the lesson

My Tutoring Approach:

As a passionate Maths Advanced student, I focus on building a strong foundation in mathematics for students from Kindergarten to Year 8. My tutoring sessions are structured, personalised, and designed to help students not only understand maths but feel confident and enjoy it too.

️ Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
I begin each topic by going over the core basics and ensuring the student understands the fundamental concepts.

Once they’re confident with the simple questions, we gradually move to more challenging problems together.

I provide lots of practice questions, tailored to their level and needs, to reinforce their learning.

I also offer exam-style questions and timed mini-tests to help improve speed and accuracy—ideal for exam preparation.

I give detailed worked solutions, so students can review their steps and understand where they went wrong.

For students who want extra support, I can create personalised exams for them to complete under test conditions, either online or in person.

I offer tons of resources, including worksheets, revision booklets, and topic summaries, that are all student-friendly and effective.

Lesson Length:
Lessons typically run for 1 hour, but I’m flexible depending on the student’s needs or focus for that session.

Qualifications & Experience:
I’m currently studying Maths Advanced in high school and have strong academic results, especially in maths. I’ve helped students informally for years and I genuinely love explaining things in ways that make sense. I understand what students struggle with and how to help them improve.

I tutor students in Kindergarten through to Year 8—whether they’re:

Preparing for tests or exams

Wanting to get ahead

Or just need help becoming faster and more confident

I’m always available to support my students even outside of lessons—whether they have a question about homework or need help before a test. I’m committed to helping every student feel capable and ready to succeed in maths.
