About Fatima

I am a maths student in London with over a year of tutoring experience from 11+ to A-Levels. I have taught 10 students throughout this time and have helped them improve their skills and knowledge in a wide range of maths topics. I've always loved maths because it's such a multifaceted subject and has countless applications. Not only that but studying maths has helped to refine my logic and problem solving skills, which are of great importance to me.

About the lesson

Firstly, I'd like to get to know the students and find out their strengths and weaknesses and will then shape the lessons around topics that students feel less confident about. We'll work through real exam questions, so that the students are familiar with the type of problems they will face in the exams.

I believe that progress should not only be measured by increasing marks on past papers but also through students feeling more confident in working through questions by themselves with as little help as possible. This is why I'd expect students to do a couple (not too many!) problems outside of lessons to see if they have improved their understanding. We'll then got through those problems in the lesson if they struggled and if not, we will move on to something more challenging.

For me, the strategy that helped me most during my exams was doing as many past papers as possible and going to my teachers for help with the questions that I struggled with.
