About Andrew
I am a Mathematics and Statistics university student with a strong academic background in Mathematics, having achieved Grade A at A-Level. I also achieved Grade B in Accounting A-Level after preparing for the subject independently.
Alongside my studies, I already tutor Mathematics privately and have experience mentoring younger people through several years of volunteering and leadership within Scouting.
I particularly enjoy helping students understand why Mathematics works rather than simply memorising methods. My aim is to identify the areas a student finds difficult, strengthen the foundations behind them, and gradually introduce more challenging questions as their confidence and ability develop.
I welcome students of different abilities, whether they need help catching up, want consistent support throughout the school year, or are aiming for higher examination grades.

About the lesson

Lessons are adapted to the student's current ability and goals. Students who are struggling will first work on building strong foundations and confidence, while stronger students will be challenged with more advanced problems designed to push them beyond routine textbook exercises.
Lessons typically last 1.5–2 hours and can be offered individually or in small groups. I also offer lessons at the student's own home subject to terms agreed between the tutor and guardians.
For Mathematics students, I provide structured material based on the relevant Maltese syllabus, including:
• clear topic notes and explanations
• worked examples
• guided practice during lessons
• independent exercises and homework
• examination-style questions where appropriate
• feedback on areas requiring improvement
Rather than simply completing school homework together, my lessons follow a structured progression so that students can identify weaknesses, master each topic and build towards their examinations.
Small-group tuition is also available for students at a similar level / cohort, allowing students to benefit from a lower individual cost while keeping groups small enough for questions and individual attention.
