About Isobel
My name is Isobel and I'm an 18 year old student who recently completed my A levels, achieving B's in maths and chemistry. I am studying Chemical Engineering at Newcastle University and have a passion for chemistry and maths.
I understand that for many these are difficult subjects and aim to help you understand them and maybe even enjoy them. I hope that during tutoring I will be able to find the best way to explain things that will help you to grasp new concepts or ways of problem solving.

Lessons are 1 hour each, targeting areas that students feel they struggle with as well as recaps of topics they feel comfortable with.
Chemistry lessons are aimed at at 11-16 year old students. For GCSE level students I am most comfortable with the AQA specification as this is what I studied.
For a typical chemistry lesson:
- Explain the key points of a topic
- Further explanation where the student struggles
-Show the student a typical exam question on the topic and how it should be answered
- Give the student some questions on the topic to have a go at and offer guidance where it is required.
Maths lessons are aimed at 11-14 year old students.
For a typical maths lesson:
- 'Warm up' that is usually a question based off the previous lesson done
- Walk through the basics of the next topic and show an example of how to do a question
- Do 1 or 2 questions together
- Give the student some questions to attempt on their own but offer guidance where needed
