About George
I am an experienced tutor in the final year of my Mathematics BSc at the University of Bath and beginning my Mathematical Sciences MSc at the University of Oxford in October 2020. Before University I took a year out to tutor (and travel) and at the peak of my teaching I had around 15 students ranging in ages from 9 to 18 years old, some requiring over 3 hours of tuition a week. Since going to University, I have taught online mostly and this year I also taught a class of 17 first-year undergraduates through the University. My approach to teaching is to first and foremost create a friendly and non-judgemental environment where the student can feel free to ask any questions and explore maths freely. I try and adapt to the student's learning style and generate lots of analogies and demonstrations to help with any concepts they are struggling with. I also believe the key to maths is to practise so to consolidate any new topics I will create lots of my own questions to ask and problems for the student to solve as well as referring to any past paper and textbook questions (if applicable).
