Hi, my name is Jake and I have been a Mathematics tutor for more than 5 years now. I have a first class Masters in Mathematics from Durham University. I have tutored Mathematics at various levels - predominantly GCSE and A level, but also at Primary level and as advanced as Undergraduate Mathematics. I graduated from Durham University in July.

My approach to tutoring depends on the aims and ability of each student. The first step is to establish these aims. I believe that to really do well in Mathematics it is important to understand the underlying concepts as well as to be able to answer exam questions. My sessions are thus usually split between talking through and understanding the key concepts within a topic, and then reinforcing this learning by running through particularly relevant example questions.
