About Melody
My enthusiasm for mathematics emerged from a fascination with patterns, logical structures, and problem-solving. This interest led me to pursue an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I developed expertise in algebra, geometry, statistics, and modeling. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided students through elementary school math, middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math, helping them build analytical skills, confidence, and intellectual curiosity. I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability, using visual tools, real-world examples, and stepwise explanations to make concepts accessible and engaging. I encourage independent thinking, exploration, and persistence, creating an environment where learners can grow academically and personally. Outside teaching, I explore advanced mathematical techniques, innovative problem-solving strategies, and educational technology to enrich lessons. Seeing students progress from uncertainty to mastery and develop genuine enthusiasm for mathematics is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

Students then progress to middle school math, where we explore fractions, percentages, ratios, introductory algebra, and geometry. Using real-life examples, visual aids, and structured exercises, learners develop both understanding and confidence, discovering the practical applications of math in everyday life.
Intermediate lessons focus on linear equations, functions, coordinate geometry, multi-step problems, and logical reasoning. I also incorporate SAT math preparation, teaching students strategies for time management, interpreting problems accurately, and solving complex questions efficiently. Exercises emphasize reasoning, analysis, and application of mathematical concepts to develop critical thinking skills alongside academic proficiency.
Advanced lessons cover higher-order algebra, geometric proofs, data interpretation, and mathematical modeling. Students practice evaluating multiple solution strategies, justifying their reasoning, and applying knowledge to unfamiliar problems. My teaching approach balances encouragement with structured guidance, ensuring learners gain mastery, confidence, and a lasting appreciation for mathematics.
