About Jacinta
Hello, I’m Jacinta, a mathematics teacher and tutor based in Glasgow. I hold a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Strathclyde and have experience teaching mathematics in secondary schools and supporting university students.
I help students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and prepare for exams. Whether you find maths challenging or want to improve your grades, I offer patient, step-by-step explanations and lessons tailored to your level, pace, and goals.
My approach is calm, encouraging, and structured. I break down difficult topics into manageable steps, use clear examples, and give you opportunities to practise with guidance. Questions are always welcome, and mistakes help us identify what to work on next.
With experience teaching within the Scottish curriculum, I support students in developing strong foundations, problem-solving skills, and effective exam techniques. I prepare each lesson carefully, set realistic goals, and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
My aim is to help you understand the reasoning behind each method, so you can tackle questions more independently and approach maths with greater confidence.
