About Thina

My name is Thina Dlaku living in Philippi. I matriculated in 2018 and now I am currently studying chemical engineering at CPUT, second year. I started tutoring in March 2023 at Philippi Village as a private tutor, tutoring students that wanted to upgrade their matric results.

About the lesson

As a dedicated and passionate private tutor, I offer personalized lessons tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each student. My approach is centered around creating a supportive, engaging, and interactive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, confidence, and curiosity.

My teaching methodology is rooted in the understanding that every student learns differently. I employ a student-centered approach, combining elements of project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and traditional teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles. What sets me apart is my ability to adapt my teaching style to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring they receive the most effective support.

I am proficient in English and able to teach in this language. However, I also have a working knowledge of other languages and can accommodate students who may require occasional clarification or support in other languages.

A typical lesson with me involves:

- A brief review of previous material to reinforce understanding and retention
- Introduction of new concepts or skills, using a combination of explanations, examples, and interactive activities
