About Caitlin

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with experience of teaching in 'outstanding' British schools, International schools and bilingual settings. I am offering Maths and English lessons to children currently working at KS1 or KS2 level.

After graduating from university with a degree in music, I worked as a teaching assistant before training to become a teacher. Since qualifying as an 'outstanding' teacher, I achieved a PGCE from The University of Sheffield and have taught in a wide range of settings across several year groups, as well as international schools in Germany, which has given me strong knowledge of the curriculum.

About the lesson

I am offering Maths lessons to children currently working at KS1 or KS2 level.

During my career, I have taught across a range of primary year groups which has given me a strong understanding of the curriculum and subject development. I believe there is more to a good education than just learning facts. It is vital that children fully understand the concepts they learn in order for them to apply their skills to real-life practice. This also provides them with the foundations they need to further their education and development in these subjects.

During my teaching, I aim to ensure that mathematical concepts are not just learnt, but that they are also understood. This will help to build confidence as well as laying the foundations for future learning in the subject. I focus on using visual aids to explain and model concepts in depth before looking at practical strategies for problem solving.
