I've worked in both learning centers and colleges helping students of all ages succeed in math. As a seasoned math tutor that's worked in both learning centers and colleges, I've been able to help students of all ages and learning styles. My typical approach involves asking the student what they want to gain from our sessions. Are you looking for help with specific problems and need someone to check your work as you do them? Are you looking to get caught up in class because you felt like a couple of chapters got rushed through? Whatever the case may be, I'm always happy to help.
If you come in with nothing but, "I don't get this class" that's totally fine! Just expect a lot of questions so we can identify your strengths and weaknesses first. Once we know what needs improvement, I can provide examples, explanations, and address some common confusions or pitfalls.
Lessons are for anybody! I've worked with kids and adults. Adults I've worked with have appreciated my patience and encouragement. Kids appreciated my kindness and humor. I know how to help those that have ambitions in science and math, as well as those that just want to pass their class.
