About Jodie

Hi! I'm Jodie,

After graduating with a mathematics degree from the University of Bath, I became a full time tutor. I have taught students from KS1 up to A Level (including further maths), helping students achieve excellent grades and get into some of the UK's top universities (Oxbridge and Russell group).

I am currently studying for a masters degree at Imperial College London, and continuing to teach during this time.

In lessons I work with students to set goals and achieve their academic potential. It is also important to foster an enjoyment of the subject itself: a good understanding of mathematics is an amazing skill to have and it is endlessly applicable to other school subjects, careers, and day-to-day life.

So, whether you want to build a solid foundation, or reach for the highest academic attainment, together we can work to meet your personal targets.

I like to encourage students to be curious and try different methods. Thinking about problems in new ways can help develop students' understanding and motivate them to think creatively encountering new challenges.

Maths was always my favourite subject and it's a rewarding to help others grow their skills and find it an enjoyable challenge too.

About the lesson

Teaches maths from Year 4 - Year 13.

Creates a safe, welcoming learning environment in which students' can develop their understanding of mathematical methods. Guides students to reach their full potential in school assessments and external examinations.

First session is a (free) consultation with parent/guardians present in order to discuss current mathematical ability and overall aim of tutoring sessions. Subsequent lessons are typically 1 hour in length and will be tailored to individual students, helping them to achieve their personal goals within the subject.

Relevant Qualifications:
2:1 - Mathematics BSc - University of Bath
A* - Mathematics & Further Mathematics, A Level
9 - Mathematics & Physics & Chemistry & Biology, GCSE

Run Royal Institution Maths Masterclasses in 2023 and 2019 for Year 9s and Year 6s respectively.

Received a 1st in Mathematical Communication module at university.

Has experience tutoring for UK SATs, GCSE, iGCSE, Further GCSE, A level, and Further A level.
