About Zoey

My passion for mathematics began in childhood, inspired by the patterns and structures hidden in numbers and equations. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Pure Mathematics and an M.Sc in Industrial Mathematics, providing strong foundations in both theoretical and applied mathematics. Over 12 years of teaching, I have supported students across all levels, from beginners to advanced learners, cultivating understanding, problem-solving skills, and conceptual clarity.

I employ a student-centred, adaptive teaching style that combines visual aids, practical examples, interactive exercises, and stepwise problem-solving. I encourage curiosity, exploration, and independent reasoning, ensuring each learner receives personalised guidance and builds confidence in their abilities. Lessons are designed to be intellectually stimulating, applied, and rewarding.

Outside of teaching, I engage with applied mathematics research, computational modelling, and interdisciplinary applications in physics, engineering, and data science. Bringing real-world relevance into lessons helps students see the value and excitement of mathematics. Watching learners progress from uncertainty to confidence, mastering concepts, and developing genuine appreciation for mathematical thinking remains the most fulfilling aspect of my career.

About the lesson

My mathematics lessons are designed to make complex concepts accessible, engaging, and deeply meaningful. I cover algebraic expressions, calculus, probability, statistics, mathematical modelling, and applied problem-solving. Lessons integrate visualisations, real-life examples, interactive exercises, and step-by-step reasoning to help students grasp concepts while developing critical thinking and confidence. Each session fosters curiosity, logical analysis, and precision in solving problems while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas.

For beginners, lessons focus on foundational concepts, basic algebra, arithmetic problem-solving, and understanding graphical representations. Intermediate learners engage with calculus techniques, probability and statistics applications, and multistep reasoning exercises. Advanced learners study abstract algebra, advanced calculus, mathematical modelling, and optimisation problems, incorporating real-world scenarios and analytical techniques. Each lesson includes exercises, discussions, and conceptual reinforcement to ensure understanding, fluency, and skill application.

Mathematics education nurtures structured thinking, logical reasoning, and analytical problem-solving. Students develop confidence tackling challenging problems, connecting concepts, and applying mathematics to interdisciplinary topics. My goal is to guide learners to become independent, confident thinkers who approach mathematics creatively, methodically, and with intellectual curiosity.
