About Rachel
I am a scientist with an M.S. in Physics and a B.S. in Physics and Mathematics. I have been tutoring and teaching physics and math at all levels since I started working on my degrees 10 years ago. I love working with students and fostering understanding and passion for the subjects I love.

I approach my lessons with each student according to what they need most. I like to get to know my students and find out what motivates them and help them apply that motivation to the study of math and physics. I work with each student to keep up with their curriculum and assignments, but also work to discover what they most need help with in order to succeed in their classes. For example, a student struggling in algebra might have the underlying common thread of not understanding fractions, and so I try to identify and work on such areas so that the student will see improvements in their understanding of the entire class materials. I also try to teach good study habits and provide students with advice on things like note-taking skills, preparing for tests, being time-efficient in studies, and getting the most out of a homework assignment.

A no-show for a lesson will be charged full price with no refund and no option to reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24-hr notice will be charged full price, but can be rescheduled at no cost if scheduling permits. No charge for cancellations with greater than 24-hr notice.
