About Jayden

Hi, my name is Jayden. I am currently chasing a degree in health sciences in the hopes of making it to medical school. I ran a study group for first year chemistry, as I am very passionate about helping my fellow classmates. While also helping my brother and his friends excess in high school math. I am also currently working on Fetal Health research with Dr. Connors at Carlton University, as I am highly passionate about the next generations health along with their education!

About the lesson

My lesson are geared toward anyone as I find this form of teaching works with ages 13-20. I can explain hard to grasp concepts with drawings and analogies in a way that makes it interesting yet easy to learn. While ensuring a bottom-up teaching method by giving the students all the tools they need before they move onto more difficult problems with confidence. While a major component of my teaching is keeping good communication with the student to ensure they are not shy to ask questions or are not embarrassed to get something wrong.

Each class is broken into 3 components. The first is where I try to explain the basic concepts of the lesson at a pace the student can handle and lasts approximately 30 minutes. The next is where I give the student short practice questions based on the content, once done I go through the question with them while breaking it into simplified numbered steps. This strategy seems to help a lot with longer more complex questions. This component lasts 20 minutes. While the last 10 minutes are reserved for going over the main content of the lesson, as studies show that simply reviewing what you have learned after a class significantly helps retention. Homework will also be assigned to further problem-solving skills.
