About Alison
With more than 9 years of tutoring experience and a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics, I help high school students achieve success in IB and A-Level mathematics. My teaching philosophy is built on conceptual clarity and logical problem-solving. I focus on core areas such as Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics, which form the backbone of the curriculum. My sessions involve exploring different ways to approach problems, making math less rigid and more intuitive. I incorporate extensive past paper practice to familiarize students with exam formats and expectations. Feedback is consistent, helping students identify strengths and areas for improvement. I also encourage independent thinking and analytical skills. Many students find that their confidence grows rapidly once they see progress in past paper work. Mathematics requires structure, and that is the heart of my teaching approach. I build lessons step by step, starting with algebraic foundations that open the way to advanced topics.
