I am currently a math teacher. I teach 8th graders. I have had experience teaching from grades 5 to 8. I have experience tutoring ages 5 to adult. I've worked for learning centers (Sylvan and Huntington) as well as privately.

I try to be very hands on when it comes to teaching new mathematical concepts. I tend to explain the process first. Then I slowly, step by step, explain an example problem. From there, I like to complete another example problem, this time having the class fill in the steps as I pause. After that, I have the students complete the problem on their own (with me checking in periodically). Usually, a student will volunteer to walk me through the problem.
